The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is a government energy efficiency scheme designed to tackle fuel poverty and help reduce carbon emissions.ECO4 is a Government initiative to support low-income households and to create more energy efficient homes. Energy Company Obligation (ECO) grants are provided at no cost to customers, so that any energy efficiency upgrade for their home will be fully funded by an energy provider.The specific measures that would benefit your home would be determined by a retrofit assessment.
Who is eligible?
You could be eligible for ECO4 funding and get the energy efficient measures installed at your residence, if you receive at least one of the following benefits:
Child Benefit
Pension Guarantee Credit
Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
Income Support
Tax Credits (Child Tax Credits and Working Tax Credits)
Universal Credit
Housing benefit
Pension credit saving credit
If yourLocal authorityisready to refer you to obligated energy suppliers so that you can be offered support under the ECO Flex.
If your Energy supplier is ready to refer you under ECO4 Flex if you are either struggling with persistent fuel debt and are supported by suppliers or are using pre-payment meters and have regularly been unable to stay connected to their fuel supplies due to financial hardship.
Home Energy Scotland Grant & Loan Scheme
The Home Energy Scotland Grant & Loan Scheme is a Scottish Government-backed programme designed to help households make their homes more energy efficient and environmentally friendly. The scheme provides grants and interest-free loans to support improvements such as insulation and low-carbon heating, helping to reduce energy bills and improve home comfort.
Support is available to eligible homeowners and landlords across Scotland, with additional funding available for rural and island properties.
